God Time Sheets and Parent Cues

Here to provide a safe, fun learning environment so children can Find God, Find Others, Find Themselves.

Here at rKidz, we believe that two influences working together have a greater impact than just two separate influences in a child’s life. The parents are a great influence, and the church is a great influence, but when they work together, their influence is even greater. Ultimately, we want kids to Know God. Even though there’s no formula for knowing everything about God, there are a few things we can help kids do that will help them know God better. We believe those four things are; Hear, Talk, Pray, Live.
  • We want to help kids Hear God by learning to value scripture.
  • We want to help kids Talk to God about their faith.
  • We want to help kids Pray every day.
  • We want to help kids Live a life of worship.
We believe those things happen best when kids are in groups, verses rows. We want kids to connect with each other and with other adults. We believe this helps parents Widen the Circle. Parents need to intentionally place other adult relationships in the life of their kids that will influence their hearts and minds for Christ. With that being said, we want our Small Group Leaders in your kids’ classrooms to do five things.
  • We want our leaders to Be Present by showing up predictably, showing up mentally, and even at times, showing up randomly so that we connect their faith to a community.
  • We want our leaders to Create A Safe Place by leading their groups, respecting the process, and guarding the hearts so that they can clarify their faith as they grow.
  • We expect our leaders to Partner With Parents by cueing the parents, honoring the parents, and reinforcing the family so that an everyday faith can be nurtured at home.
  • We want our leaders to Make It Personal by living in community, setting priorities, and being real with your kids so they can inspire them by their example.
  • We want our leaders to Move Them Out by moving them on to someone else, moving them to be the church, and moving them to what’s next so they can engage their faith to a bigger story.
We realize that this looks different at every age and stage of life. That’s one of the reasons why we try to accommodate classes that focus on a smaller age span. We think it’s important to help establish a great first impression for kids with God. We want our younger kids to know that God made them, loves them, and that Jesus wants to be their friend forever. We currently break up our Pre-K and Under kids as such;
  • Nursery: Birth - NonWalkers
  • Toddlers: 2-3 years
  • Preschool: 4-5 years
As our kids age and enter into the school years, we fan the flames of their natural bent for discovery. It’s here that kids are beginning to experience for themselves who God is, how He seems them, and how much He loves them. We believe that during these formative years, kids need to learn how to relate to God, relate to others, and grow in their own personal faith. That’s why we encourage them regularly to make wise choices, to trust God no matter what, and to treat others the way they want to be treated. Kids in this age group are also highly relational, and we try to feed that need. We currently break elementary age kids into two main groups and then have them gather in smaller groups from there. Our current grade breakdown is as such;
  • Early Elementary: K-3rd Grade
  • Upper Elementary: 4th-5th Grade
We believe it’s important for kids to develop community with kids their age, which is why we strive to keep the small groups as close in age and gender as possible.

All age groups center around community. We instill regroups within class. Parents are empowered with the tools to continue conversations at home.
